The European Union Youth Wind Orchestra (EUYWO) brings together some of the most talented young wind and percussion players from across Europe for an intensive artistic project at a high international level.
The 2026 session will take place from 25 October to 2 November in Vianden (Luxembourg) under the direction of the renowned Belgian conductor Yves Segers. During this week, around 60–65 young musicians from different European countries will work together in an inspiring international environment.
The project combines demanding orchestral rehearsals with intercultural exchange. In addition to full orchestra rehearsals, sectional rehearsals are led by experienced professional tutors. The rehearsal period culminates in three public concerts in the Greater Region.
Founded in 1989, the EUYWO has developed into one of Europe’s most respected youth wind orchestras and is under the High Patronage of His Royal Highness the Grand Duke of Luxembourg.
The project aims to create a true European melting pot, bringing together young musicians from different cultural backgrounds to share their musical traditions and build lasting connections. At a time when international dialogue is more important than ever, the orchestra sends a clear message: music has no borders.
The programme includes works by François Glorieux (London Proms Overture), Jan Van der Roost (Amazonia), Luis Serrano Alarcón (Duende) and excerpts from Manuel de Falla’s El Sombrero de Tres Picos.
